Questo disco codificatore permette di inviare e ricevere messaggi segreti da un amico dotato dello stesso disco col quale ci siamo messi d'accordo.
 

This encoder disk allows to exchange secret messages with a friend, provided with same disc, after agreement on the secret disk setting. Make a coder for each friend you what to share the secret messages.

Per prima cosa devi costruirti il disco codificatore; stampa su un cartoncino quello riportato qui oppure lo stesso in versione PDF  riportato qui ; ritaglia con cura i due dischi, pratica un foro al centro ed infila un fermacampione in modo da poter ruotare i due dischi.
 

Click here for a printable version (pdf or gif). Print out the disk coder (2 disks) on light cardboard. Punch an hole in the centre of the 2 disks and put a pin in the centre so that 2 disks may rotate one with respect to the other. The coder disks are ready to use.

Per utilizzarlo ecco come devi fare; mettiti d'accordo col tuo amico sul simbolo segreto del disco esterno che vuoi usare. Ruota il disco interno fino a quando il triangolino rosso indica il simbolo segreto concordato. A questo punto non ruotare più i due dischi.
 

In order to use them, you shall agree with your friends the secret symbol of the external disc that you want to apply. Rotate the inner disc up to have the red arrow indicating the agreed secret symbol.

Per scrivere il messaggio non devi far altro che scrivere, in luogo della lettera o della cifra, il simbolo corrispondente sulla circonferenza esterna. Il tuo amico, per decodificare il messaggio, non deve far altro che regolare il suo disco codificatore sul simbolo segreto e quindi trascrivere le lettere e le cifre corrispondenti ai simboli che tu gli hai inviato.
 

From now on, not to rotate the disks anymore. To write the message you have only to write, instead of the needed letter, the corresponding symbol on the external disk. Your friend, in order to decode the message, must set its disk coder on the same secret symbol, and to write out the letters correspondent to the symbols in your message.
